Music and Film Festival Set for EBRPL-Main Library, Saturday, July 27

BATON ROUGE, La. - LouisEagle -- Henry Turner Jr.'s Listening Room Museum Foundation is pleased to announce the talent lineup, films and sponsors for the 1st Annual (Neighbor) Hood Fest. The free family friendly event, about unity and community is July 27 from 12:00 to 8:00pm at the EBRPL-Main Library located at 7711 Goodwood Boulevard, Baton Rouge. LA 70806. .

The talent lineup in order of appearance is host David Randall of WHYR's "Heavy Lifting" radio show. R&B singer Pariah85 is followed by spoken word artist Sir AP and at 2:00pm country/pop singer Susie Shepherd takes the stage. Gospel artist Chris Christ Child is on next and then New Orleans's based blues guitarist and singer/songwriter joins the fun with his trio at 3:30pm. Funk and jazz musician Kasey Ball is followed by Jelly B & D' Wolfe, a multi-genre musical duo. Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor take the stage at 5:45pm and closing out the musical performances are the dance band LA Groove and Willem McCormick.

Screenings at the festival begin at 12:30pm with the drama "The Lost Son," by producer/songwriter Chris Christ Child, followed by a music video block of Fantasy and Animation. Nick Savides' "Mid City Flats" short screens at 3:45pm and at 5:00pm is Woody Keim's documentary "Battlegrounds: The Lost Community of Fazendeville."  Closing out the program is a Music Video Dance Party Block featuring many performers from Henry Turner Jr.'s Listening Room. All films will be followed by a Q&A.

Sponsors are Henry Turner Jr.'s Listening Room Museum Foundation, Visit Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Public Libraries and New Orleans Original Daiquiris.

A Pre-party will be held on Thursday, July 25 from 7:00pm to midnight at Henry Turner Jr.'s Listening Room located at 2733 North Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802. Admission is $30.00 and includes a buffet and cash bar.
