The event will be held at at St. Mark's Missionary Baptist Church in Ethel, Louisiana on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 9 a.m. to Noon.

LAFAYETTE, La. - LouisEagle -- Burnett G. King (President), Rodney Q. Freeman (Vice-President) and Juanita Shanklin (Youth Director) are organizing this most important workshop.

Important life skill classes will be taught during the workshop and will include Group Classes Ages 5 to 7 (instructors are Sisters Shirley Knighten and Jerimiser Kelly), Ages 8 to 10 (instructors will be Sisters Shamanda Sanders and Kira Sanders), Ages 11 to 13 (instructors will be Sisters Larhonda George and Kashanna Bradford), and Ages 14 to 17 (instructors will be Sisters Alva Franklin and Jehrica Kelly). There will also be an Adult Class for Ages 18 and up (Dr. Perry Jones will be the Adult Facilitator). Proverbs 22:6 and Psalm 127:5 will be the guiding theme.

The 5 to 7 year old class theme will be "Stop, Think, Make A Good Choice!". Proverbs 3:5-6 is the guiding scripture. Students will learn the importance of recognizing good choices and how to make them. The 8 to 10 year old class theme will be "Be A Buddy, Not A Bully!" Leviticus 19:18 and Matthew 5:43-48 are the guiding scriptures. The 11 to 13 year old class themes will be "Pros and Cons of Social Media" and "Mind Your Manners". The guiding scriptures will be Ephesians 4:29 and 1 Corinthians 10:31-33. The 14 to 17 year old class theme will be "Get the Job" and "Finance For Teens". The guiding scripture will be John 15:7 and Psalm 90:17. The topics are all ones that are imperative to becoming successful in life, as well as in making certain the youth and adults remain grounded in God's word.

St. Mark's Missionary Baptist Church is located at 5956 Highway 19 in Ethel, Louisiana. The church's mission is to "preach, teach and share the gospel so that unbelievers are converted, believers are established, and the church is strengthened." St. Mark's is a historic religious institution located in the heart of the beautiful rolling hills of East Feliciana Parish. The church has been blessed with many members who have servant hearts. They are also known for igniting the hearts and minds of its youth, as their progressive education programs are managed by those who know how to truly reach the children and still keep them rooted in the Gospel. The Reverend J. Washington is the Pastor.

The East Feliciana Minister's Conference is a subsidiary of the Fourth District Missionary Baptist Association, the Louisiana State Baptist Convention and the National Baptist Convention. It is a driving force in Outreach in the Felicianas and beyond.
