BATON ROUGE, La. - LouisEagle -- Henry Turner Jr.'s Listening Room Museum Foundation is pleased to announce the talent lineup and sponsors for the 2nd Annual (Neighbor) Hood Fest. The festival is intended to build unity by exploring the city of Baton Rouge and Louisiana's diverse cultural communities through music and film.
The 2nd Annual (Neighbor) Hood Fest is Saturday, July 12 from noon to 8:00pm at the EBRPL-Main Library located at 7711 Goodwood Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA 70806. The family friendly, free festival features a vendor village, food court, live music and films, along with an antique car show and children's play area with bounce houses and a soccer field, if you want to bring your gear. Features and shorts will be shown in the library, followed by filmmaker panel discussions. New this year is a Hot Dog Eating Contest, sponsored by Frankie's Dawg House. Ten entrants will be chosen with the winner receiving a $100.00 cash prize. Entry forms are on the website.
A Pre-party will be held on Thursday, July 10 from 7:00pm to midnight at Henry Turner Jr.'s Listening Room located at 2733 North Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802. Admission is $30.00 and includes a buffet. No host bar.

Musical hosts for the event are Gisele Haralson and Free Spirit. Performers are the Crossfire Youth Ministries Band, Xavie Shorts, Ms. Pressure, Ervin "Maestro" Foster, Chris Christ Child, Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor, Da Beautiful Key, King Solomon Willis and Shore Enough. Film presentations include a Louisiana Film Music Video Block, featuring Ms. Pressure and Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor, among others. Documentaries are "Wasted: Over Tourism & the French Quarter" written and directed by Laura Cayouette, with a Q&A by producer Erin Holms and "Mid City Flats" by producer/director Nick Savides, about an art community in Baton Rouge. The film portion closes with a ReverbNation-Listening Room Alumna music video block featuring Bryan Belanski, Emo LeBlanc, Mark Winters and more. (See schedule below.)
