BATON ROUGE, La. - LouisEagle -- Henry Turner Jr.'s Listening Room Museum Foundation is pleased to announce the 1st Annual (Neighbor) Hood Fest. The festival's focus is on building unity and by exploring the city of Baton Rouge's diverse cultural communities. It is about neighborhood associations and what makes them interesting places to live and work. It also introduces new people from outside the area to Baton Rouge's neighborhoods and has a film and music component.

The 1st Annual (Neighbor) Hood Fest will be held Saturday, July 27 from noon to 6:00pm at the EBRPL-Main Library located at 7711 Goodwood Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA 70806. It is family friendly and free to the public. The festival features a Vendor's Village and Food Court, live music and films. The features and shorts will be shown in the library, followed by filmmaker panel discussions. They are all about communities, people and what make them interesting and exciting.

A Pre-party will be held on Thursday, July 25 from 7:00pm to midnight at Henry Turner Jr.'s Listening Room located at 2733 North Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802. Admission is $30.00 and includes a buffet. No host bar.

Musical talent expected to date includes Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor and the Listening Room All-Stars. Special guests are Kasey Ball and Mike Da'Kidd. New to the festival are the duo Jelly B & D'Wolfe and Willem McCormick. Screenings to date include the feature film "Battlegrounds: The Lost Community of Fazendeville," by Woody Keim and Nick Savides' short "Mid-City Flats." Host is radio personality Dave Randall.
