Three Day Festival Features Music, Food and Family Friendly Fun.
BATON ROUGE, La. - LouisEagle -- The 10th Annual A Taste of the Deep South pleased to announce the Stage Lineup and Sponsors for the three day festival. On September 17th a Pre-Party will be held at Henry Turner Jr.'s Listening Room. Performers include Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor, the Listening Room All-Stars and special guest artists from around the country. The event is scheduled from 7:00pm to midnight. The venue is located at 2733 North Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802. Admission is $25.00 in advance and $30.00 at the door and includes a downhome style Southern buffet. No-host bar.
A Taste of the Deep South Festival takes place at the EBRPL-Main Library on Goodwood Boulevard on September 19 and 20 from 12:00pm to 8:00pm. The event features various genres of music. The festival has a Vendor Village with arts and crafts, clothing and jewelry and a food court with southern festival food favorites. Local favorites who will be performing are Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor, The Listening Room All-Stars featuring the My Better Half Band, Kelton 'Nspire Harper, Wyanda Paul, King Solomon Willis, Princess Teha and Pastor Leon Hitchens, along with Susie Shepherd, Xavie Shorts, the Phoenix Rouge Dance Troupe and SmokeHouse Porter and the Gut Bucket Blues Band. Additional talent coming in for the event includes the rock bands DRTY COTN and Voodoo Junction, Hip Hop artist Geekster the Super Nerd, blues/folk/jazz artist James Margoles, Latin chanteuse Jessi Campo, alt/rock singer Loui Daniels, a Neil Diamond Tribute with Paul O'Donnell and Muscle Shoals blues artist Russell Gulley. Hosts are Radio Personality Kerwyn Fealing, Contemporary Christian singer Princess Teha with DJ Olu.

The event is family friendly and free to the public. Special VIP tickets are available on the website. VIP Experience cost is $25.00 and includes two meal and two soft drink tickets. Turner VIP tickets are $100.00 for two people with two T-shirts, four meal and drink tickets, covered seating in the VIP access tent and a "Now" CD by Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor.
