The presentation will be given by Ms. Dayne Ise of NASA and will be discussing the challenges of nuclear rocket propulsion.
NEW ORLEANS - LouisEagle -- The December NO-LES meeting for the 2022-2023 season will be on Thursday, December 8, 2022. The presentation will be given by Ms. Dayne Ise of NASA.
Ms. Ise will be discussing the challenges of nuclear rocket propulsion. She is the deputy manager of the Science and Technology Office at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL. This organization is responsible for projects and programs in support of the Science Mission Directorate and Space Technology Mission Directorate. Ms. Ise was previously project manager for Space Nuclear Propulsion at Marshall which included both the nuclear thermal and nuclear electric propulsion projects.
The December meeting is traditionally the meeting where we invite LES members to bring a guest to the meeting to join in a social holiday event in addition to having a great meal and hearing an exciting speaker. We invite all attendees to register and bring a guest to the December meeting.

The dinner meeting will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 6pm. Meeting registration starts at 5:30pm at the Southern Yacht Club, 105 N Roadway St, New Orleans, LA 70124. Online registration will be available with printed name tags until 5 pm the day before, registration the day of will be available without a printed name tag the day of the meeting.
One PDH will be earned for all registered attendees in person or remote.
We are working with the local MATHCOUNTS coordinator, Ms. Leah Read and look forward to a successful in-person program after several years of remote activity due to Covid. Ms. Read will give us a brief overview of the MATHCOUNTS program and discuss volunteer participation.

Mr. Louis Jackson is a FIRST Louisiana Senior Mentors and is working with LES NOLA to promote and expand FIRST. FIRST seeks to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology while building self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills. Mr. Jackson will give us a brief overview of the FIRST program and discuss volunteer participation.
