NEW ORLEANS - LouisEagle -- Jillian Mac Fine Art is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated solo exhibition of Brazilian textile artist Rodrigo Franzão in New Orleans. The exhibition, titled "Alma da água" (the Soul of Water), will be unveiled at the prestigious Garden District gallery located at 3923 Magazine Street on Saturday, May 13th. Coinciding with the annual Champagne Stroll hosted by the Magazine Street Merchant Association. Featuring over 20 new masterpieces by Franzão, the exhibition will enchant visitors until June 30th.

Franzão's artistry possesses a captivating rhythm and a distinct aesthetic that resonates with viewers. Using textiles as his primary medium, he meticulously crafts three-dimensional abstract geometric shapes with everyday materials. His mesmerizing creations, brought to life through acrylic resin, latex, and eco-friendly vegetable papers, serve as meditative reflections on nature and spirituality.

At the core of Franzão's artistic philosophy lies the notion that humans yearn to reunite with the infinite ocean of their existence, akin to individual drops of water. "The Soul of Water," the exhibition's theme, delves into the profound connection between water and the human soul, encapsulating the beauty of our reality and inviting viewers on an introspective journey.

Each of Franzão's elaborate pieces is meticulously handcrafted, with careful placement of every material element on a canvas substrate. The resulting interplay between tangible evidence of his meticulous handwork and the overall abstraction creates a dynamic visual experience. The artworks shimmer and evolve, conveying a sense of organic life and movement.

With a background in language and visual arts, complemented by a concentration in psychopedagogy, Franzão adeptly synthesizes principles from various mediums to shape his artistic vision. His sculptural works evoke emotions through the harmonious interplay of color, light, and texture, offering viewers a captivating multisensory experience.
