Emails and other backchannel communications have been reported to contain information alluding to a potential exploration at the scope and operational capabilities of space based weapons. As the potential for Russian collaboration with nearby allies increases it is the case that Russia's best move is to enforce total destructive power in coincidence with international actors such as the Republic of China in a push for stimulus of regional innovation and hegemony which would effectively serve to effect an obfuscation of any posture of aggression (at least momentarily). Where jus ad bellum resides in the context of the duration of projects involving space based assets, as well as the shift of focus regarding confrontation from that of the land/sea battle terrain to that of the halls of the United Nations and forum of rhetoric and technological innovation; such as research facilities, collaborative partnerships, and dissemination of advancements (in a revitalized space race).
