louiseagle.com/10173900

NEW ORLEANS - LouisEagle -- BCT, a land and cultural heritage conservancy, announced today the creation of a scholarship program to attract academically gifted students to pursue studies that focus on environmental stewardship, cultural heritage and American history.

The program's objective is to recruit from the top 1% of high school students and provide them with a $25,000 scholarship to attend a nationally ranked university.

"BCT's mission is to protect, in perpetuity, the diverse fish and wildlife habitat, as well as, historical and cultural heritage sites for generations to come," said Robert Brevelle, Board Member at Large.  "This scholarship program aligns with our objectives and will hopefully attract our country's best and brightest to pursue studies and a career in this noble cause."

Robert will oversee the BCT scholarship program.  He was previously involved in scholarship programs for IEEE, Illinois Institute of Technology, Raytheon, Teledyne e2v, L-3Harris, Leonardo, and other organizations.

Applicants must score in the top 1% of college preparatory tests (SAT/ACT) and  a minimum of a 3.8/4.0 GPA.  Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and attend a nationally ranked, Tier 1 university with preference given to Ivy League universities.  Membership in a nationally recognized high IQ society is required.

Robert is a member of Mensa, Intertel, and the International High IQ Society. When asked about the stringent requirements, Robert stated, "to put it simply, we want to recognize and assist those who have worked hard, separated themself from the pack, and earned the opportunity to study and thrive at the highest levels of academic competition.  As investors, we naturally seek out the brightest students to hedge our bets."

Applicants must be accepted into ones of the following programs of study: Environmental Engineering, Botany, Anthropogeny, Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, Anthropology, Archaeology, Agronomy, Forestry, Forest Engineering, Farm Management, American History, Native American History, Aquaculture, or Fisheries Biology.  Related fields of study must be approved by BCT.

"Land tells the story of America. It shaped us as a people and as a country. Today, it is the key to preserving our cultural identities, vital habitat for fish and wildlife, and a healthy future for generations to come," said Robert.  "We must ensure that the next generation has the knowledge and passion to properly steward our environment and our history."
