Entertainment and Music Driven Festival Open to Features, Documentaries, Shorts and Music Videos

BATON ROUGE, La. - LouisEagle -- The 5th Annual Listening Room Film Festival is pleased to announce the dates, times and call for entries. 2026 dates are Friday and Saturday, December 4, 5, 11 and 12 from 3:00pm to midnight and Sunday, December 6 and 13 from 3:00pm to 9:00pm. The films will be followed by Q and A's. Industry panels with professionals and executives are also a part of the presentations, along with musical performances.

The Listening Room Film Festival's focus is on entertainment and music driven features, documentaries, shorts and music videos, with an emphasis on performers andfilmmakers from the Southeast area, although other film genres  submitted will be considered. It is presented by Henry Turner Jr.'s Listening Room Museum Foundation.

The festival will be both physical and virtual. Local, regional, national and international films will be considered and reviewed by selection committee and must have been completed between January of 2023 and September of 2026. Films for consideration need to be entered by October 31, 2026. Features can be up to ninety minutes, shorts up to thirty minutes and music videos up to fifteen minutes. The Listening Room Film Festival was founded by music entrepreneur Henry Turner Jr. to give new and established filmmakers a place to screen their films and play their music in a comfortable environment. It focuses on people who are pioneers or influencers in the entertainment industry, as well as the performers and actors in the films and musicians who provided music soundtracks.

Features from the 2025 Festival include "Not Long" by Sadell Lewis, "Best of Trades," "Ahmal and The Night Visitors" by Opera Louisanne, "Black Dance in Louisiana" by Greer Goff and Italy's "Cartapesta: Carnival of Fano-The Movie."

Music videos blocks included Listening Room and Festival Alumna, Louisiana Musicians, and Dance Videos that ended the festival. Panels included Songwriting for Film and Television by Barry Coffing and a Legal Panel with Vernon W. Thomas, Esq. and Dixie Taylor, Esq.

Live musical performances, to name a few, were by Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor,  Ervin "Maestro" Foster, Geekster the Super Nerd, The Dina Preston Band, Clay Redmond and the Outlaw Red Band, V-Lo and Stephen King.

Sponsors to date are Visit Baton Rouge, Cutting Edge NOLA, Henry Turner Jr.'s Listening Room Museum Foundation.
