BOSSIER CITY, La. - LouisEagle -- The Homer Lumberjacks completed somewhat of a cinderella story on their first season active in the North Louisiana Football Alliance on Saturday evening by winning a championship, shutting out the Bossier City Bombers 40-0.
This marks the second championship won consecutively by two different football clubs in the city of Homer with the first by the Homer High Fighting Pelicans winning the Class 1A state championship this past fall, and the Lumberjacks winning the 2022 NLFA Championship this past Saturday.
Another keynote worth mentioning is Lumberjacks head coach Leondre Williams led his team to a championship victory in just his first season as a head coach. The former Minden Cyclones quarterback turned coach, Williams was given an opportunity to coach an NLFA team and made the best of it.
