The Future of Engineering Education: A Round Table Discussion with the Regional Engineering College Deans

NEW ORLEANS - LouisEagle -- I hope you had a great holiday. The entire board of the New Orleans chapter of LES would like to wish you and yours happiness and success in the new year.  Engineers work in a wide range of capacities and hold paramount the safety, health, and welfare of the public.

January NO-LES meeting for the 2022-2023 season will be on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.  The January meeting is traditionally our panel luncheon meeting where we invite business and/or education leaders to provide their views of the state of business and education in engineering.  This January we will have deans from Tulane, UNO, LSU and Southern speak to us on "The Future of Engineering Education: A Round Table Discussion with the Regional Engineering College Deans".

Meeting registration starts at 11:00am.  The meeting will begin at 11:30am.  The meeting will be held at Porter and Luke's, 1517 Metairie Road, Metairie, Louisiana 70005.  For more information on registration for this meeting, click here.   Please register as soon as possible! Online registration will be available with printed name tags until 5 pm the day before, registration the day of will be available without a printed name tag the day of the meeting.

One PDH will be earned for all registered attendees in person or remote.

We continue our engagement with the middle school MATHCOUNTS program.  Ms. Leah Read will give us a brief overview of the MATHCOUNTS program and discuss volunteer participation.

We are also continuing our association with the First (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) program.  FIRST seeks to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology while building self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills.
